Letter from the PrincipalLetter from the Principal(es)

Welcome to Holmes Junior High. I am completely confident that you will find our faculty, staff, and administration to be student-centered and supportive. Everyone at Holmes is committed to challenging students to be his/her best, but we will always be there to help our students along that path.

Our goal is to prepare students to be successful for life. This means not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. In order to help our students achieve success, we offer a comprehensive program that emphasizes the importance of creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking; all skills that are necessary to be successful in the 21st century. Our core and elective courses are designed to highlight the interests of our students and are taught by dedicated professionals, who work to inspire young minds.

Aside from our academic programs, we offer a wide range of extracurricular opportunities. From athletic teams to special interest clubs, Holmes Junior High is committed to getting the students involved with the school.

I am excited and honored to be the principal at Holmes Junior High. Prior to joining the District 59 family, I spent sixteen years on the faculty at Rolling Meadows High School. The last nine years were in the role of Division Head for Mathematics and Science. I began my career teaching science at Willowbrook High School. When I am not at school, I spend the majority of time with my wonderful wife and four extremely busy children. I am an avid golfer and camper. Just spending time in the great outdoors is my definition of a relaxation.

Hawk Pride is something I take very seriously. We, at Holmes, want every student that walks through our doors, to gain the knowledge and skills that provide the best opportunities for lifelong learning. I look forward to working collaboratively with you and providing support in any way possible. Please feel free to contact me, should you have any questions.

Best regards,

Rob Bowers
