Letter from the Principal

brandi thumbDear Holmes Hawks,

Welcome to our Hawks school family. The Holmes Junior High faculty, staff, administration, and community are here to serve and support your children. I want to express to you that my deepest desire is to ensure that each of you has a very successful school year. I am honored and feel privileged to be your principal. For all students returning to Holmes, welcome back! For those new to our school, I welcome you into our close-knit and prideful family that will take you to the next level in your education.

We are honored that you have entrusted us with helping your child grow, persevere, and foster a passion for learning to become their best self. Holmes students are provided rigorous and applicable learning opportunities by committed, kind, and compassionate teachers that challenge them to reach their full potential. We are committed to supporting our students through these years using a comprehensive approach to meet each child’s needs socially, emotionally, and academically. Our students are seen as individuals and we understand that their experiences are what makes each and every Hawk unique. Holmes is truly our students’ safe space where they are able to be curious, explore, and learn to make sense of the complexities of the world around them, as well as equip them with the skills and dispositions needed to be responsible members of our community.

This year, I encourage you to rally around the theme of “Working Together to Reach our Highest Potential”. Every one of you already holds qualities of excellence, and our job is to help you see that. You will be challenged with reaching your potential at Holmes while being given the support and resources to do so. Excellence should be visible every day in the classroom, as well as through your participation in our school community, including athletics, clubs, and extracurricular activities. When you face adversity, whether it be staying up late to make last minute additions to an assignment, studying for an upcoming test, completing homework, remaining fully engaged in class, or managing your responsibilities outside of the school day, remember to show nothing but your best self. Through your commitment to yourself and your education, you will see that your potential is limitless.

I want our Hawk families to know that their engagement in our school community is what truly makes us family. Please feel free to contact us if you want to learn about opportunities and ways to support our students and staff.

Let’s Go, Hawks!
