Robert Frost and Rupley Welcome New Principals
CCSD59 is pleased to announce the hiring of two new elementary school principals for the 2017-18 school year. The new principals will replace retiring principal Dr. Thomas Seaton, current principal of Rupley Elementary, and Ms. Jessica McCormick, current principal of Robert Frost, who will be staying home to spend more time with her children. Community Consolidated School District 59 recently filled these two principal openings using a comprehensive screening process, multiple levels of interviews, and thorough reference checks. The new principal assignments are effective on July 1, 2017.

Prior to her current role, she was an Assistant Principal at Jack London Middle School and an instructional leader throughout the CCSD21 community, supporting teachers in the areas of authentic learning and inclusionary practices. She has also supported school districts in implementing responsive classroom and developmental designs for middle school, including coaching and mentoring teachers on improving their instruction through a more comprehensive understanding of the impacts of social emotional learning. Ms. O’Donnell has been an educator for seventeen years, serving as both a teacher and administrator.
Ms. O’Donnell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Illinois State University.
Ms. Susan Savage has been selected as the next principal of Robert Frost Elementary School in Mount Prospect. Ms. Savage comes from Maine Township District 207 where she currently serves as Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning at Maine East High School. While at D207, she worked as an instructional coach and English Department Chair at Maine West, and she also taught high school ELL Reading and English.
