HJH Student Arrival Overview 

• Where should students enter the building? 

  • 6th Graders should use the GOLD (Door 2) entryway.

  • 7th Graders should use the RED (Door 27) entryway.

  • 8th Graders should use the BLACK (Door 26) entryway.

• What if there is a line to get into the building?

  • Students should follow the markings on the ground for social distancing.

    • If there is no marking, then students should be self-aware and ensure six-feet distance between themselves and those around them.

• What will happen when my student enters the building?

  • Students will be checked-in by a staff member prior to entering the school.

    • Students must:

      • Self-certify each morning prior to coming to school.

      • Participate in random temperature checks.

      • Wear a mask appropriately.

      • Students will need to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building.

  • Students should take the most direct route to their 1st or 5th period classroom.

    • Students will ONLY be allowed to go to their 1st or 5th period classrooms.

  • Lockers will not be used.

• What do I need to do prior to sending my child to school?

  • You will receive a daily self-certification survey for your child via email.

    • This survey will be emailed to you at 5:00 a.m. each day and must be completed by 7:00 a.m.

      • The email will contain a link to your survey that can be completed on a mobile phone or other device.

      • If you have multiple children, you will need to fill out a survey for each child.

• What will happen to my student if we forget to self-certify prior to coming to school?

  • Students will be asked the self-certification questions and have a mandatory temperature check.

  • What if my student has a temperature or is identified through the self-certification questions to need further evaluation?

    • The student will be brought to a designated area for further evaluation by the school nurse.
